Hola from the beautiful island of Dominican Republic!
I’m spending the week soaking up the sun and having some fruity island drinks with my hubby, sister, and a load of fun-loving in-laws! Though I don’t do a lot of all-inclusive beach trips for my clients at The Jetlag Experience, I do love to get away to one myself.
Sometimes you just need an easy vacation with no thinking involved, and an all-inclusive definitely offers that. I know some people have their hang-ups when it comes to all-inclusive properties…and I’m no exception. Maybe it’s an occupational hazard, but I’m more than a little picky. My biggest issue with AI’s is that they are so massive that it is sometimes hard to get a room with a great view. I love having my morning coffee on the patio overlooking the ocean, so a primo view is muy importante to this girl. I don’t want you to end up with a crumby view on your next beach trip, so I compiled a list of no-fail options for you.
TOP 5 ROOMS WITH A VIEW
#5: Hotel Danieli // Venice // Italy
Okay, so while the Danieli does not offer a typical beach view, you can have your pick of stunning lagoon views (pictured) or you can keep your eyes on the Doge’s Palace. With exquisite furnishings, impeccable service befitting a Luxury Collection Hotel, a prime location near St. Mark’s Square, and a top-notch gastronomy program, the Hotel Danieli is easily my favorite spot on the island.

#4: Fairmont Royal Pavilion // Barbados // Caribbean
You know what I was saying about massive properties and no ocean view rooms? Well that couldn’t be further from the case at the Fairmont Royal Pavilion. Every one of its 72 beachfront junior suites and oceanfront deluxe rooms offer unobstructed ocean views! Situated on St. James Beach—the best on the island, in my opinion—and offering quality service and a romantic environment makes this resort one of my favorite spots in the Caribbean.

#3: Fairmont Kea Lani // Maui // Hawaii
What can I say? The Fairmont just knows what’s important when it comes to room comfort and amenities. In Maui, few things are more important than a fabulous view—especially if your visit coincides with whale-watching season (January-March typically). The Fairmont Kea Lani is sure to make your visit to Maui extra special by offering a broad menu of cultural activities, just-for-fun competitions (completing the selfie scavenger hunt will win you a prize), and a fantastic fitness program. Want to kick your feet up and enjoy a little quiet time? The Fairmont has plenty to keep your little ones busy while you savor the view.

#2: Sugar Beach Resort // Saint Lucia // Caribbean
This is a fantastic resort that gives new meaning to the word “tranquil.” Because it is built into the mountain, the villas are spread out from each other and each one offers a different view of both earth and sea. They are all breathtaking. I love the Superior Luxury Villas (which, in case you’re wondering, aren’t even the highest room category available!) with their private pools! Talk about romantic and relaxing…this would be a “sweet” honeymoon spot!

#1: St. Regis Bora Bora Resort // Bora Bora // French Polynesia
When it comes to a view, I dare you to find a bad one here! But let’s be real. If you’re going all the way to Bora Bora, you expect more than a stunning view like this, right? The St. Regis lives up to its name on this island paradise. On top of typical St. Regis perks like butler service, this resort caters to families instead of excluding them. Features like an underwater AquaSafari and Lagoonarium Fish Park are part of the “Family Experiences” program, while kid-size robes, special menus, nanny service, and a kid’s club make sure it is a memorable vacation for everyone. The butler will even arrange for your room to be provisioned with a crib and other necessities for your littles before you arrive! All that’s left to do is head to your patio, grab that selfie stick, and say #JetlagPlease!

Are you jonesing to unwind and take in the view? I’ll be back from my vacation in a few days and would love to chat with you about these and other a.m.a.z.i.n.g destinations. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a daquiri to drink and a view of my own to enjoy!
Ciao Chow!
